Saxophonist Marta Wajdzik and guitarist Szymon Mika are regarded as two of the most outstanding instrumentalists in Europe. Their exceptional skills are evidenced by their completion of the elite Focusyear scholarship program in Basel, Switzerland, as well as prestigious accolades in the world of jazz music. Both were named “Hope of the Year” by critics from Jazz Forum magazine, with Szymon Mika additionally being recognized as Guitarist of the Year 2022. They have had the opportunity to perform with legendary musicians such as Dave Holland, Avishai Cohen, and Miguel Zenon. They are leaders of their own groups, composing and arranging music. These two outstanding instrumentalists have decided to join forces with the exceptional Geneva-based drummer Arthur Hnatek, who regularly collaborates with artists such as Tigran Hamasyan. All three have extensive experience working with top names on the global jazz scene. The “Unbound” project reflects the wide range of the artists’ musical inspirations—ranging from classical music, pop, rock, and jazz to electronic music, which Arthur Hnatek explores with the same intensity as jazz. This makes the trio’s music truly unique, free from genre constraints.
